However, if you're experiencing issues connecting to a server node and it doesn't seem to be working, there are a few steps you may need to take to resolve the problem and ensure seamless connectivity:
1. **Set DNS to 1.1.1.1**:
- **Why:** Sometimes, your device's DNS settings can cause issues with resolving the domain names of server nodes. By setting your DNS to 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare's DNS), you can bypass potential issues with your current DNS provider and improve your connectivity.
- **How:** You can change your DNS settings on your device to use 1.1.1.1. Instructions vary by device and operating system:
- **Windows**: Go to "Network & Internet" settings, select your network, click "Properties," and change the DNS settings to 1.1.1.1.
- **macOS**: Open "System Preferences," go to "Network," select your network, click "Advanced," then go to the "DNS" tab and add 1.1.1.1.
- **Android/iOS**: Go to your Wi-Fi settings, tap your network, and change the DNS settings to 1.1.1.1.
2. **Restart Your Client App**:
- **Why:** After a DNS change or if the automatic failover hasn't triggered, restarting your VPN client can help it re-establish connections with the server nodes using the updated DNS settings or failover information.
- **How:** Close the VilaVPN client completely and then restart it. This will refresh the connection and allow the app to apply the failover settings correctly.
3. **Restart Your Device**:
- **Why:** Sometimes, changes to DNS settings or network configurations require a full device restart to take effect. Restarting your device ensures that all network-related services are reset and start fresh with the new configurations.
- **How:** Simply restart your device as you normally would. After the reboot, try connecting to the VPN again.
These steps should help resolve connectivity issues.
