With 30 days' advance notice, we are clarifying how affiliate commissions are attributed, so commissions keep rewarding the work that actually brings new customers to VilaVPN.
What's changing: starting 2026-08-15, a purchase made by a customer whose account is already more than 90 calendar days old at the time of the order will no longer earn a commission just because an affiliate tracking cookie happens to be present.
What is NOT changing:
- Your recurring income is protected. Lifetime recurring commissions continue exactly as before on every eligible subscription — one ordered while the customer was still within their first 90 days, plus everything grandfathered below.
- Nothing is retroactive. No past commissions will be clawed back or recalculated.
- Everything ordered before 2026-08-15 is grandfathered — those services and their renewals keep earning on today's terms.
- New-customer commissions are unchanged.
Genuine reactivation or win-back campaigns can still qualify — contact support for written approval before you start; approved campaign commissions are reviewed and credited manually.
Practical tips: use the personalized links on your Affiliates page; give mainland-China audiences the vilavpn.jp link (vilavpn.com is blocked there); and make sure customers buy on the same domain they clicked.
